Composition theory

AD and AP damage: what really matters in a compositionThe balance between physical and magic damage is not the real criterion. What matters is having enough DPS to threaten objectives — and knowing when damage type weighs in.
CC in draft: how much, what type, and what forCC is wasted without damage behind it. Two types, a threshold beyond which you pay too much, and why counting it measures nothing.
Evaluate a composition: the 4-step methodHow to analyse a finished draft: identify your win conditions, check that you can apply them, prevent the ones opposite, and place it all on the game phases.
Front to back or flank: the two real composition archetypesPoke, dive and protect the carry are not archetypes of the same rank. The real axis is front to back versus flank — what each one demands, and how you choose.
LoL win conditions: how a composition wins the gameThe three win conditions of a League of Legends composition — siege, teamfight, splitpush — what each one demands, and what to check once the draft is over.
Peel, frontline and backline: how a composition survivesA fight happens if a champion is in range of another. Frontline, backline, range, mobility and peel are the five ways of acting on that distance.
Slowing down or speeding up: the tempo of a compositionWhen a composition needs time, when slowing down becomes a mistake, and what a draft gives you to control the pace of a game.
Synergy in draft: the unit that really decides a compositionA draft is compared neither team against team nor champion against champion, but synergy against synergy — and always within a given fight context.
